The Devetashka Cave is one of the largest and most impressive caves in Bulgaria, set near the village of Devetaki, about 35 km from Pleven.

The imposing entrance, tens of metres high, and the vast chamber within leave a powerful impression on every visitor.

Characteristic of the cave are the openings in the ceiling — natural "eyes" through which daylight streams in, creating a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

The Osam River flows through the cave, and its vaults are home to colonies of bats, which is why part of the site is protected.

Thanks to its spectacular appearance, the cave has served as a filming location for international film productions, which makes it all the more popular.

It is easily combined with the nearby Krushuna Waterfalls — a full day in nature, about 45 minutes by car from Hotel Rostov.

Access may be restricted during certain periods to protect the bats — check in advance.
